OUR HISTORY.
The Patuxent River Chapter, which serves youth and adults in Laurel and surrounding communities in Northern Prince George's, Eastern Montgomery, Western Anne Arundel, and Southern Howard Counties in Maryland, was chartered Friday, April 7, 2017, during the Area II Conference at the Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel Virginia Beach, Virginia by Lady Helena Dodson, National Area II Director.
Twenty of the twenty-one ladies in the chartering group were present for the official induction and chartering ceremonies. The following per-selected chapter officers were installed: Lady Wanda L. King, Chapter Organizer and Chapter President; Lady Nicola Kennedy, Ist Vice President; Lady Kimberly Morgan-Craft, 2nd Vice President; Lady Janza Reese, Recording Secretary; Lady Karen Sharp, Treasurer; Lady Tia Belton, Financial Secretary; and Lady Alicia Koku, Top Teens Advisor. Immediately following the ceremonies, the Ladies of the Patuxent River Chapter were presented to the Area at the Ladies' Luncheon.
Patuxent River Chapter's Charter Members
Since the chapter's chartering, the Ladies of the Patuxent River Chapter have been very busy serving their community and taking an active role as members of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. The chapter has had representation at both Area II conferences following the chartering with members serving on various conference committees. Patuxent River Chapter Ladies have served as conference Parliamentarians and two are now the Area's Award Chairman and Co-Chairman. Two Ladies attended Parliament-Top in 2018 and a number plan to attend the upcoming Syn-Lod.
On Saturday, April 27, 2019, the chapter held its first membership induction. From the original group of 21, the Patuxent River Chapter is now a chapter of 50!
